Founder
My name is Samantha Settlage
I am a designer with a lifelong devotion to the arts but an absolute love for textual art. My creative journey has led me through a Bachelor of Architecture, exploring photography, and hands-on exploration of various mediums. However, conceptual word art, typography, and visual poetry are what truly speak my love language. I am thrilled to launch cadence studio as a creative venture and a personal medium dedicated to sharing art that invites people to reflect and view the world through a different lens.
My coffee table books include The Poetic Underground by Erin Hanson, Pillow Thoughts by Courtney Peppernell, Klee by Will Grohman, Ansel Adams' The Negatives, and various antique poetry book finds. Outside of the arts, I have a knack for finding four-leaf clovers, an obsession with the game Scrabble, and a perfectly landed pun will completely shatter my composure. When I'm not chasing a three-year-old with a permanent case of the sillies, battling wits with my sweet & sassy six-going-on-sixteen-year-old, or retrieving the screwdriver my husband left in the fridge next to the milk, you can usually find me curled up with a dog reading or puttering in the garden and completely neglecting the bane of my existence aka folding laundry.
